CCISD implementing door stations May 14
Posted on 05/09/2019

At Calhoun County ISD, the safety and security of students and staff is always the highest priority.

Over the years, many enhancements have been made to improve school facilities and safety processes. One of the elements of Calhoun County ISD’s safety plan, includes securing entrances.

On Tuesday, May 14, the district will be implementing door stations at many campuses, including HJM Elementary, JR Elementary, Seadrift School and Travis Middle School. Other campuses across the district will be implementing their door stations soon.

Here is what parents and community members need to know about the new door stations:

  1. Once the instructional day begins and the tardy bell rings, entrances will be secured
  2. Once entrances are secured, parents and visitors requesting campus access will need to approach the door station (located near the campus front door), press a door bell-like button on the station, and wait to be identified by a campus staff member
  3. Once identified, the staff member will grant access into the campus

Calhoun County ISD appreciates the community for supporting initiatives to make Calhoun County ISD a safe and effective learning environment.

For more information about the implementation of door stations, please contact your campus principal.
